Shadows dance across the lake
under the moonlit night
the opaque waters shake.His face materializes amidst the stars
a smile that penetrates
reopening my scars.I fear I shall never look upon the sky
without feeling his presence
and wanting to fly.
fairness is an illusion
possibly a delusion
convoluted confusion
twisted lies
that give less than brilliant lives hope
natural selection
an ever-present dangling rope

promises nothing
but defeat
less than crushing
so try as you might

I came from above
just like the plague
eating all human souls
I became their ruler
never questioning me.
Clawing at ambitions
weaving all treason
kissing those dictators
smiling at the popes
becoming everything
licking their sins.

sweeping away tyrants
